Culture Inventor: Frank Chin and his The Chickencoop Chinaman

　　Through analyzing Frank Chins representative work The Chickencoop Chinaman,the paper explores his ideology about how to construct Chinese Americans cultural identity.The identity he is about to establish is different from the identity in popular ways either to integrate into host culture or to keep pure Chinese culture.Chin proposes to discard the Chineses negative stereotype and argues that Chinese Americans should invent a new culture by regaining the pioneer spirit of the early Chinese immigrants in America and remembering their ancestors constructive participation into writing American history as a masculine man instead of a docile girl.
