How to Cultivate College Students Communicative Competence in Intensive Reading Class
The rapid development of globalization shortens the distance among people in the world and stimulates their needs to exchange ideas frequently.As an international language,English has been displaying a unique function to facilitate the communication among people from different countries.Considering this,the focus of college English education should be shifted concerning the goals and methods of teaching.This paper attempts to work out some ways to improve college English teaching in order to cultivate students communicative competence.As one aspect of ones competence,communicative competence enables the language user to express thoughts and interpret messages sent by others.Therefore,it should be the focus of language learning and teaching.
