An Analysis of Trans-editing in Reference News from the Perspective of Ideological Manipulations
On the basis of Andre Lefeveres manipulation theory,this paper analyzes trans-editing in Reference News influenced by Chinese ideology,exemplified by the reports about mid-air collision in 2001 and South China Sea dispute in 2011.It can be deduced that source materials and such trans-editing methods as deletion,addition and variation are selected,under the influence of dominant ideology reinforced by the official news agency and the government,to help prevent ambiguity and bias from spreading.
