Investigation of parameters influence on the material removal during electrochemical mechanical polishing of stainless steel substrate
Surface deficiency of flexible stainless steel as thin film solar cell substrate and the diffusion of Fe/Cr degraded the conversion efficiency, compared with the nano-roughness glass substrate.From the view of electrochemical machining material removal mechanism (Faraday and Ohm law) and mechanical polishing material removal mechanism (Preston equation and abrasive behavior), the main parameters and its function on material removal rate were determined.Finally, a serial of tests was conducted as aforementioned analysis.The result of nano-roughness surface with a high material removal rate verified the feasibility of the composite electrochemical polishing, which overcame the problem of instability and gray surface by electrochemical machining.
