Hydrodynamic Simulation of Abrasive Flow Surface Polishing
In order to obtain an ultra-smooth optical glass surface by polish efficiently, it was proposed to use the non-Newtonian fluid slurry as the abrasive flow surface polishing(AFSP) slurry.The relationship between the polishing conditions and material removal rate of abrasive flow surface polishing was studied by fluid dynamics simulation based on the CFD software.Influence of different kinds of non-Newtonian fluid slurry was analyzed.It indicates that the shear-thickening fluid slurry may have the best polishing performance, which has a smoother distribution about flow velocity, pressure and wall shear stress.The three parameters may contribute to a better polishing performance.
