Biomachining Properties of Pure Copper and Powder Sintering Metal by Microorganisms

Biomachining is one of the recent machining methods in which chemolithotrophic microorganisms are used for the controlled material removal from the surfaces.The properties of biomachining pure copper and powder sintering metal by microorganisms have been investigated.A groove was machined on the pure copper surface and a porous tissue was produced on sintering piece in the biomachining test.The Ra values were both increased more than 0.15μm after first hour machining and then fluctuated with rising trend.The machining depth of pure copper was directly dependent on time and the machining depth of sintering metal was fluctuated with rising trend.Different elements distribution variation of sintering metal was different.
