Stress Analysis of Glass Molding of V-groove Elements Using Finite Element Method
The glass molding press (GMP) technology used for optical elements has the advantages of one-step forming, low cost and mass production, which has wide and prosperous application in fabricating optical elements with micro structures.Focus on the large residual stress existing in micro-structure optical elements after GPM, a finite element simulation model of V-shaped micro grooves is constructed with the software MSC.Marc, and general Maxwell model with five-element is used to describe the viscoelastic properties of glass at high temperatures, the filling effects and stress distribution of V-shaped micro grooves are analyzed under different molding conditions. The simulation results show that the stress increases and filling effects is improved when the angle of V-shape increases;the higher molding speed will lead to higher stress and molding pressure;the stress decreases with the increase of molding temperature.
