Crises which the Humanity Facing and Higher Educations Mission
The object of this paper is to tell the humanity what positions we are faced with and how we should deal with these by education. Entering the 21st century, the humanity is facing the unprecedented challenges and crises which rise from two approaches: one is the contradiction between human and nature; the other comes from the humanity interior. Human history is more likely becoming a race between education and catastrophe gradually. So it is an inevitable trend to promote culture exchange and blending, which becomes the fourth mission of university. Education is a process of self-improvement, and regards moral education as its ultimate goal or the highest goal. What teachers should let student learn mainly includes these following five sides: enhancing students emotion quality, cultivating students consciousness of treating everything equally without discrimination, making students interest in learning, instructing students into reflecting on themselves and guarding against ignorance. No matter how to educate and what to educate, we need educate persons to pursue the truths; No matter how to learn or what to learn, we need educate persons to be honorable. We should put it in our hearts firmly.
