On Pay Management of SMEs

SMEs(small and medium enterprises) play a very important role in Chinas economic development and social stability. However, with the development of market economy, SMEs encounter many management problems, especially pay management problems. With the increasing pressure from knowledge economy and the growing competition in the market, more and more companies focus on getting the competitive edge through competition for talents. To win the competition, Chinas SMEs are in urgent need for high-quality human resources. But such factors as the lagging-behind concept of talents, the imperfect pay systems and lack of communication embarrass the development of SMEs by their own talents trap. That is, on one hand, they need high-quality personnel urgently; while on the other hand, there are no effective human resources strategies that they can rely on to retain the talents and maximize their potentials. Therefore, how to attract and retain the qualified personnel is a priority for SMEs. This paper analyzes the main pay management problems of SMEs, proposes corresponding solutions aiming at improving the pay management competence of SMEs.
