An Email-assisted Mode of Teaching College English
1 Research Background In 2005, China’s Ministry of Education approved and put into effect the new College English Curriculum Requirements, which stresses the employment of such modern information technologies as multimedia and computer network to facilitate the reforms in the English teaching. It also urges the teachers to adopt such new teaching conceptions as taking students as the agents of learning, “giving full consideration to the relevance between teaching contents and social/individual needs, “intensifying students’ learning motivation, “individualizing teaching to cater to students’ particular capability and interest, “developing the autonomous learning ability in students, “familiarizing students with effective learning methods and strategies, and so on.
