Applying the Model of Digital Literacy Assessment in New Horizon College English Teaching
1 Background Along with the wide use of computer and the rapid development of the Internet, literacy in language education has been expanding its original notion. English learners should have knowledge and skills not only in English but also in digital technology. Therefore, College English education should help college English learners to develop a whole new range of English-based skills under the circumstances of Web multimedia. The urgent need to prepare students for these future challenges has made it a priority to incorporate digital literacy development into university English teaching programs (Gu 2002).
