Research on the Human-aided Auto-assessment System for Online Translation Tests of College English

1 Introduction 1.1 Why Human-aided Auto-assessment of Translation? With China’s gradual opening-up and increasing international communications, it is an urgent task for the Ministry of Education to stipulate new guidelines on improving Chinese students English communicative ability and broadening their global perspective. Within this background, Peking University(PKU) has been keeping up with the trend of updating syllabus, pedagogy and assessment in College English education, and dedicated to enhance her students’ English level from all aspects, including listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, based on the latest guidelines issued by the government.
