Firm Capabilities Theory and Industrial Policy’s Effect
The paper analyzes industrial policy from the angle of firm capabilities theory. The paper suggests that traditional Chinese industrial policy does not help develop industrial competitive advantages as it overlooks building enterprise competence, and that there are theoretical misconceptions. Competence-oriented competitive industrial policy is essential and crucial to promote upgrading of industrial structure, improve industrial competitiveness, and improve effectiveness of industrial policy.
