What Determines the Type of Organization Structures in DiversifiedCompanies?
Organization structure is one of the most important factors in the performance of a company. Based on the existing literature, we can draw a conclusion that multidivisional structure goes with the diversified strategy and has been proved to be the most suitable structure for diversification. This paper has studied the Chinese listed companies and found that few companies use M-form as there organization structure. And it made a further research to find out the determinants of choosing an organization structure and argued that the M-form adoption are mainly determined by scale, age, environmental dynamic and industrial opening.
