Chinese Learner Corpora and Second Language Research

Introduction I am very happy to be here to share my research experiences with you.Under the general title of my talk today,“Chinese Learner Corpora and Second Language Research,I will highlight three major areas.This talk will start with a brief overview of three published Chinese learner corpora to date and a fourth one in preparation.This will be followed by a survey of corpus-based studies of English used by Chinese learners,with a specific example of such studies from my own work in the area.I will conclude my talk with some critical comments on the advantages and disadvantages of the corpus-based studies.
