Autonomous Learning and Face-to-face Tutoring in Computer-assisted College English in China——An Ezplorative Study in Beijing University of Clothing Technology
This study explores a new teaching model of promoting the learnersEnglish listening and speaking skills by means of computer-assisted autonomous learning and face-to-face tutoring in a small class of 32 art students in China.The findings of the research indicate that the new teaching model can be applied in the art university,as it has shown advantages in:1) stimulating the students’interest in learning English;2) promoting the learners’autonomy by allowing for more flexible means of learning;3) improving the learners’competence in listening and speaking even with limited face-to-face tutoring by the teachers.
