Autonomous Learning and Face-to-face Tutoring in Computer-assisted College English in China——An Ezplorative Study in Beijing University of Clothing Technology

摘要：

This study explores a new teaching model of promoting the learnersEnglish listening and speaking skills by means of computer-assisted autonomous learning and face-to-face tutoring in a small class of 32 art students in China.The findings of the research indicate that the new teaching model can be applied in the art university,as it has shown advantages in：1) stimulating the students’interest in learning English;2) promoting the learners’autonomy by allowing for more flexible means of learning;3) improving the learners’competence in listening and speaking even with limited face-to-face tutoring by the teachers.
