Developing Talents in Thailand and Malaysia
Talent development in Thailand and Malaysian service firms have become a prioritised human resource management practice as these societies move toward knowledge-based economies. This paper discusses talent management in the cultural, organisational and managerial context of Thailand and Malaysia and argues that such structures often counterbalance the investments made in talent development as knowledge workers crave different motivational structures than production workers did. The paper is based on a qualitative study.
