Multi-Resolution Composite Array for Digital Beamforming With High Angular-Resolution

　　This communication presents a new multi-resolution com-posite array(MRCA)concept for digital beamforming(DBF)array to achieve very high angular-resolution with considerably less array ele-ments.Furthermore,the beamforming performances of DBF radars with two proposed multi-resolution composite arrays were investigated with numerical experiments and compared to a conventional full-filled array and a multiplicative array to verify our concepts.
