Research on Filtration Performance of Electrospun Three-Layer Membrane for Oily Particles

The structure and surface energy of fiber filters have great influences on filtration for oily particles during long-term use.Herein,three-layer polyacrylonitrile(PAN)fibrous filters with middle layer of various surface energy were prepared to improve the filtration performance.Keeping the fiber diameter and pore size constant,the surface energy was controlled by mixing PAN with cellulose acetate(CA)or polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)together at a certain mass ratio.The design of three-layer structure of fibrous filters could efficiently slow down the decline rate of filtration efficiency.And as the surface energy of the interlayer further decreased,the declining rate of filtration efficiency and increased rate of filtration resistance could be slowed down significantly.Membranes are taken PAN/PVDF as the interlayer represented the lowest surface energy,and had the smallest decrease rate of filtration efficiency(0.026%/min),and its increasing rate of filtration resistance was only 86.5 Pa/min,much lower than PAN/PAN(151 Pa/min)and PAN/CA(186 Pa/min).
