Research on Utilizing High Voltage Static Electricity to Improve the Fill Power of Down
Down as a natural green and environmentally friendly protein fiber material,it is widely used in the field of thermal insulation and warmth.In this paper,high-voltage static electricity is applied to the down aggregates,combined with the heat setting process to make the down fluffy to improve fill power of the down.With the increase of the voltage,the time and the temperature,the fill power increases first and then gradually decreases,respectively.The process parameters of 35 kV,4 min,and 120℃make the fill power of duck down reach 14.8 cm.Furthermore,Fourier infrared spectroscopy was used to test and characterize the down before and after treatment,and it was found that the structure of down did not change signifi-cantly.Infrared thermal imaging experiments confirmed that the down has better heat insulation performance after being fluffed by high-voltage electrostatic.High-voltage electrostatic treatment of down further broadens the way to improve the fill power of down.
