Preparation of Janus Carbon Nanotube Coated Fabric and Study on Solar Water Evaporation Performance
Solar-driven water evaporation is considered an environmental-friendly method for energy-efficient clean water pro-duction.Herein,carbon nanotubes(CNTs)/nonwoven cotton fabric(NCF)interfacial solar steam generation was fabricated via a self-assembled process. In this system, the CNTs/NCF achieved water evaporation rates of 1.63 kg m-2h-1 under 1 sun with a solar thermal conversion efficiency up to 83.3%.In order to further improve the water evaporation rate,a scalable and low-cost Janus coated fabric(JCF)was developed by one-side spraying coating of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS).By control-ling the spraying area ratio of PDMS,the Janus coated fabric exhibits two different performances. When the spraying area ra-tio is above 40%,the coated fabric is water repellent;when it is below 40%,it shows a good one-way water transfer perform-ance.What is more, the water evaporation rate reaches the maximum, which is 1.78 kg m-2h-1 under 1 sun when the optimal ratio is 10%.The results of this work provide a reference for further study of photothermal materials with excellent properties and their application in water purification.
