Endowing Sustainable Antistatic Properties to Wool Fabrics by Blending Conductive Fibers

  Conductive fibers and wool fibers were blended into fabrics to enhance the antistatic properties of the fabrics in an environment with low relative humidity.Herein,the antistatic wool fabrics containing 0.3%conductive fibers were investiga-ted by exploring sustainability.The sustainable antistatic properties of the fabric were characterized by abrasion and wash re-sistance tests and evaluated by half-life.The results showed that the antistatic properties of the fabrics were first increased and then weaken after different times of friction and washing.The static voltage half-life of the fabric was less than 2 seconds,which met the requirements of antistatic fabrics.Simultaneously,compared with mercerized fabrics and non-mercerized fab-rics,mercerized fabrics with a soft feel and less hairiness were comfortable to wear,and the antistatic properties were good.It is forecasted that the fabrics containing carbon black conductive fibers have considerable prospects in the sustainable anti-static of wool fabrics.
