Self-Sensing of Bending Strain and Damage in 3-D Braided Composites by Electrical Resistance Measurement

摘要：

　　Electrical resistance monitoring of damage has become one of methods of health monitoring.We found that the re-sistance when no damage has occurred is reversible and the resistance is negatively correlated with the deflection.An increase in resistance due to crack generation can be monitored at 70%stress level and a linear increase in resistance due to crack ex-tension at the onset of failure is observed at 90%stress level.In addition to this,the direction of cracking in bending fatigue is propagated from one side to the other.
