Novel Eco-Friendly Schiff Based Retardants and Application in Cotton

  A Multi-arm amino Compound(AT)was prepared,and a novel schiff base(APH)was synthesized based on AT and P-hydroxy benzaldehyde(PHBA).Proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR),Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy(FTIR)test results show that the successful synthesis of AT and APH.The thermal weight loss analysis(TGA)test shows that the new Schiff base has excellent thermal stability.The Schiff base is grafted onto cotton fabric to pre-pare flame-retardant cotton fabric.The cotton fabric has been tested by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),limiting oxygen index(LOI)and other technical means,and it is shown that the new schiff base flame retardant plays a role in gas phase and condensed phase flame retardant.When the grafting amount of flame retardant is 15%of cotton fabric,the LOI of flame-re-tardant cotton fabric can reach 26%.This suggested that wielding APH as a flame retardant to achieve effective results on fire suppression had great potential for fire-safe cellulose.
