Electroneurophysiological Comparison Based on Different Ways of Fabric Contact Using EEG and ECG
The hairy skin of human body is the main receptor of fabric contact.Normally there are two ways of fabric contact when people wearing clothes—static contact and dynamic contact.In order to investigate that whether there were cognitive differences between these two ways of fabric contact,we studied the EEG and ECG signals of human body while using the same fabric to touch 10 subjects'forearms in both static contact and dynamic contact ways.The results showed that fabric dy-namic contact caused more conspicuous electroneurophysiological response than static contact.For same kind of fabric,fab-ric-skin dynamic contact restrains α wave,reduces sympathetic nerve activity and promotes pneumogastric nerve activity to a greater degree than static contact.And the rougher and heavier the fabric,the more conspicuous the aforementioned features appear along with the evoking of β wave and the improvement of heart rate variability.
