Cyclic Compression Behavior of Three-Dimensional Woven Spacer Kevlar/Polyimide Composites After Flat Compression
In this work,a novel three-dimensional woven spacer aramid fabric reinforced polyimide composite material was designed and manufactured.And then the flat compression and the cyclic compression behavior after flat compression failure have been studied.The results show that the composite material proposed here has excellent compressive performance,with the compressive strength of 5.3 MPa.Interestingly,the sample could restore to 80%of the original height when the load was removed after the flat compression test.The test was repeated 100 times under the condition of a strain rate of 22.5%,and the results show that the load recovery rate can still reach 93%after 100 cycles of compression.In the cyclic compression test with the constant load at 3 000 N for 100-cyclet,the results show that the strain increase rate is only 4%.The above results show that the sample damaged by the flat compression test of the composite material still has a certain degree of compressive strength and excellent resilience,which will have application potential in the field of compressive and cushioning materials.
