The Vicissitudes of Garden Aesthetic Concept in the Paintings about Elegant Gathering
Garden is not only the place of ancient literati life,but also the space carrier of personality spirit and aesthetic ideal expression.Gathering is a gathering of literati to exchange literature and art.The painting depicting this subject is called Yaji Paintings(雅集图),which shows the elegant life of literati.Yaji Paintings promoted the society to advocate the literati culture and promoted the formation of garden aesthetics.Using the method of iconography,this paper interprets the painting,poetry,and prose of Lanting Elegant Gathering(兰亭雅集图)and Elegant Gathering in the Western Garden Gathering(西园雅集图),so as to sort out the changes of aesthetic elements and spatial patterns of these paintings in the period from Wei,Jin to Song dynasties of China.In addition,according to the postscript poems and ancient books,this paper points out the evolution and influence of Yaji Paintings in the Chinese Ming Dynasty and the Korean Li Dynasty.It is hoped that the research results will play a positive role in understanding and exploring the aesthetic development of Chinese and Korean gardens,as well as protecting the cultural symbols and space construction of Chinese classical gardens.
