The Use of Community Green Spaces and Their Impact on Teachers'Mental Health While Teaching Online from Home During the CO VID-19 Epidemic in China

Teachers in China moved their workplaces from school to home due to the COVID-19 epidemic. This study explores the relationship between teacher stress, changes in the working environment, and the use of green spaces during the online teaching period.Ninety-eight survey responses revealed that working from home reduced teachers'stress versus working at school.Teachers seek out places at home or community public spaces to implement restorative coping strategies(enjoying fresh air, relaxing, easing pressure)by exercising, staying alone, and walking in community public spaces. What is more, using community public spaces with a green environment reduces teachers'stress. This may be one reason why teachers felt that using green community spaces during online teaching was very important. The study findings suggest directions for reducing stress in teachers'working environments especially at school.
