Research on Traditional Rural Landscape System of the Irrigation Area in the Basin of Southeast China:A Case Study of the Ancient Weir Irrigation Area in Dongyang City,Zhejiang Province,China
Aiming at exploring traditional rural landscape with vernacular characteristics,this paper studies on the traditional rural landscape system of the irrigation area in the basin of southeast China.Taking the ancient weir irrigation area in Dongyang City,Zhejiang Province,China as a case,the paper first sorts out the footstone of the overall landscape pattern—the wisdom of local traditional water conservancy,including hydrological intervention and water resource management.Then,the traditional rural landscape system of the ancient weir irrigation area in Dongyang,which has been formed from the traditional water conservancy construction for months and years,is dissected by three systems—agriculture,settlement and landscape making.In general,the paper demonstrates the traditional knowledge of ancestors creating living environment by sustainable use of nature,which has developed the rural landscape pattern and cultural connotation in Dongyang,as well as the conservation crisis of this traditional rural landscape in the context of modern society.
