RECENT TRENDS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF RCC DAMS

　　Over the last fifteen years,important developments have emerged regarding the construction methods used for RCC dams.These new methodologies have been incorporated in the recently issued ICOLD Bulletin No.177 Roller-Compacted Concrete Dams1,which supersedes the previous very successful Bulletin No.1262on the same subject.The aim of this paper is to describe some of the most significant advances reflected in the new bulletin,at times expanding the matter under discussion,taking advantage of the fact that the author of this article has been the lead author for Chapter 5 Construction of the newest bulletin.
