CONSTRUCTION METHODS FOR SUSU RCC DAMS IN ULU JELAI HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
SUSU RCC Dam is the main part of the Ulu Jelai Hydroelectric Project (UJHEP) which has been developed by Tenaga Nasional Sdn Berhad (TNB) in the Cameron highlands of Malaysia and was completed successfully in 2016.The purpose of this paper is to describe the experiences and lessons learned during the construction of Susu RCC Dam including cost-effective solution with low cement content mix design,Sloped Layer Method (SLM) of RCC placement,the geomembrane system over the upstream face of Susu RCC dam,and then focus on the construction methodology of production and transportation of RCC with the conveyor system,RCC placement and compaction.
