TEMPERATURE CONTROL AND CRACK PREVENTION TECHNOLOGY FOR ROLLER COMPACTED CONCRETE (RCC) DAM CONSTRUCTION IN HIGH ALTITUDE AREA OF TIBET

  In recent years,hydropower development is carried out in Tibet and other high-altitude and cold areas.Due to the special topography,geology and climatic conditions,it arose difficulties and challenges for the construction of concrete gravity dams and temperature control and crack prevention.Temperature control and crack prevention performance of RCC with different admixtures such as fly ash and tuff was analyzed in this paper,and the temperature field and stress field are simulated.The results indicate that in the scheme of mixed tuff and fly ash,the minimum safety factor of temperature stress in the strong constraint zone of foundation is smaller,which need lower requirement for temperature control measures.Under the same materials condition,RCC does not need to be cooled in the second stage and the maximum stress of RCC occurs later than that of normal concrete which means RCC has better crack resistance.The simulation results are also of guiding significance to the temperature control standards for RCC DAMS in Tibet.
