THE ENCISO DAM.A REALITY
Since the end of January 2019,the Enciso Dam (Spain) is in the process of filling after a lengthy construction period because of many changes.The filling process itself includes 12 phases,with programmed ascents and descents of the reservoir sheet to auscultate the behaviour of the reservoir foundation,abutments and sides.It is an initiative of the Ebro River Basin Federation,part of the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and is the largest water action of the ministry for the Autonomous Community of La Rioja,whose collaboration,like that of the municipal entities has been essential to carry out the work.This article highlights some of the characteristics and singularities of this work.both of its geological environment and its construction,where the IV-RCC system (immersion vibrated RCC) has been used for the execution of the body of the dam,with an approximate volume of 800,000 m3.This execution method was an innovation that simplified construction activities in the dam body.Throughout the life of the work,these aspects were addressed in numerous articles.some of which are referenced here.
