Simultaneous removal of nitrogen and phosphorus by an Anammox attached film fluidized bed reactor with HAP as a carrier
In this study,a novel process to simultaneously remove nitrogen and phosphorus based on Anammox was investigated in a continuously operated lab-scale Anammox attached film fluidized bed reactor.Under a nitrogen loading rate of 5 kgN/m3/d and phosphorus loading rate of 0.21 kgP/m3/d for about 100 days,an average nitrogen removal efficiency of 87% and phosphorus removal efficiency of 69% from the wastewater was realized. With analysis of inorganic elements of sludge and molecular structure,it was indicated that phosphorus in the waste water was removed in the form of hydroxylapatite (HAP),which acted as the carrier of the composite granular sludge and could be recovered in the further treatment.
