Study on the enhancement of methane performance by the acetate stress
In this study, sodium acetate was used to stress the methane generation microorganism,in order to enhance the acid tolerance of sludge and improve the methane generation. The methanogenic sludge was domesticated by gradual increasing the concentration of sodium acetate. The concentration of sodium acetate was 0,2,3,4,5 and 6 g/L,respectively.The results showed that the methane production and dehydrogenase activity were increased by the stressed sludge,5 g/L was the optimum concentration for the stress. The concentration of organic acids (except acetic acid) in each group showed a decreasing trend. The methane yield from the effluent of hydrogen was 173.4 mL/gCOD,the COD and carbohydrate degradation rate was 40.5%,53.6%,respectively,and the dehydrogenase activity reached 183.0 μg/(mL·h).
