Study on Electrical Properties for Doped AgSnO2 at Different Current Levels under DC 24V

  AgSnO2 contact materials are widely used in automotive relays due to their good resistance to arc erosion and soldering, as well as their high electrical lifetime.In this paper, the working environment of the automotive relay was simulated by the test system, and the electrical contact properties of the doped AgSnO2 contact materials at different current levels were studied.AgSnO2 contact material was prepared by powder metallurgy technology, Bi2O3, La2O3 and TiO2 were selected as additives.The JF04C electrical contact material test system was utilized to test the electrical contact properties of the four materials at different current levels.Considering the increase in power demand of automotive electrical systems in recent years,the test voltage is set to 42V.Based on the test data obtained, the effect of the current level on the electrical contact performance was analyzed.The results showed that the contact resistance of the four materials decreases and the arc energy increases as the current level increases, and additives can effectively improve the electrical properties of AgSnO2 contact materials.Combining with the microstructure analysis results, the applicable current levels of AgSnO2, AgSnO2/Bi2O3 and AgSnO2/La2O3 were found.
