Statistical Analysis of Contact Voltage Drop Trend of Railway Signal Relay
Contact voltage drop refers to the voltage drop between a pair of closed contacts measured from both ends of the contact assembly, which reflects the contact reliability of relay contacts from the side.Relevant standards stipulate that all contacts of the test should be monitored during 40% of the on period and 40% of the off period of each cycle of the test, and the contact voltage drop of the closed contacts and the voltage between the disconnected contacts should be monitored.Through on-line monitoring of 20,000 times of contact voltage drop of 50 railway signal relays under the condition of 24 V DC and 10 mA resistive load, it is found that the contact voltage drop curves before and after the relays show three trends: smooth and stable, first fluctuating and then stable, and always fluctuating. Then, the electrical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, contact resistance, SEM and EDS tests of the relays with these three trends are analyzed, and the trend of contact voltage drop is studied.
