RESEARCH ON DETECTION OF WELD DEFECTS WITH MULTI-WAVE TOTAL FOCUSING METHOD
In the modern industry, welded structures are widely used, especially in the aerospace and nuclear industries. In order to prevent accidents, defect detection must be performed.Due to the high anisotropy and non-uniformity in the soldered area, the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of the imaging defect is low and the image quality is poor.Multi-wave total focusing method(multi-wave TFM) detects and locates target or defect in the weld area, which increases the focusing energy at the target or defect and thus improves the sensitivity of the detection. The simulation and experimental results show that the multi-wave TFM can more accurately locate defects and improve detection sensitivity when detecting defects in the welding area compared with total focus method (TFM).
