Study of Different Fixing Methods on Physical Properties of Wool
Wool is widely used in high-grade garments for its unique style.When used asclothing materials,washingcolor fastnessis the most concerned problem.The effects of fixing methods,for example non-aqueous medium fixation,cold pad-batch and steaming on the physical properties of wool fabric dyed with reactive dye were studied.The wool fabric with different fixation methods was characterized by mechanical strength of fabric,scanning electron microscopy (SEM),thermogravimetric (TG) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).The results showed that non-aqueous fixation had little effect on the strength,appearance,thermal stability and crystallinity of wool fabrics compared with other traditional fixing methods,and had less damage to wool fabrics.
