Fabrication and Characterization of Polyaniline/Poly(vinylalcohol) Composite Electrochromic Film
In this study,Polyaniline/Poly(vinylalcohol) (PANI/PVA) emulsion was synthesized by in situ polymerization and its composite films with excellent electrochromic performance were prepared by using a spin-coating method. The effects of the content of oxidant, the content of proton acid and polymerization temperature on the conductivity and electrochromic properties of PANI/PVA films were studied systematically. The surface morphology, chemical composition and UV absorption of the proposed PANI/PVA composite films were also characterized. Our experimental results show that the synthesized PANI/PVA composite films demonstrate excellent conductivity as high as 1.26 S/cm,and exhibit a good electrochromic behavior with a reversible color change sequence of yellow, pale green, dark green and blue. This study can provide a useful solution for the development of smart wearable devices with good electrochromic properties in the future.
