Low Axial-ratio Circularly Polarized Antenna for Airborne Linearly Polarized Radiation Measurement
This paper introduces a low axial-ratio circularly polarized array antenna with sequential rotations and progressive phase shifts of elements. The gain of the proposed antenna reaches 12.9 dB and the 3-dB beamwidth is about 45 degrees at 9.7 GHz.The axial ratio of the antenna is less than 1dB from 9.6 GHz to 9.8 GHz,and as low as 0.1 dB at 9.7 GHz.The application of the designed low axial-ratio circularly polarized antenna is able to effectively reduce polarization mismatch uncertainty which satisfies the requirement of precise airborne linearly polarized radiation measurement.
