A 1.95-19.35 GHz Quad-Ridge Horn Antenna with Stable Unidirectional Radiation Patterns

  A dual-polarized quad-ridge horn antenna operating from 1.95 to 19.35 GHz for VSWR ≤ 2.5 is presented.The proposed antenna consists of a coaxial line to quadrupleridged waveguide transition,a conical cavity,and a flared section.In order to achieve stable unidirectional radiation patterns over the whole operating frequency band,a new tapered line composed of exponential and elliptic sections is introduced to the ridge design.The simulated results show that stable unidirectional radiation patterns,high isolation,low sidelobe level and low cross polarization are achieved at 1.95-20 GHz.
