An UWB Antenna for Wireless Capsule Endoscope based on 0.05mm Thickness Polyimide
In this paper,an ultra-wideband(UWB)dipole antenna is presented for wireless capsule endoscope application operating at 915MHz ISM band.Only 0.05mm thickness polyimide(εr=3.5,tanδ=0.0027)substrate and current vector alignment is used to realize compact volume and miniaturization respectively.The performances of the antenna are researched inside a homogeneous muscle phantom.Simulation result shows that the proposed capsule antenna has a-10dB impedance matching bandwidth of 520MHz(from 650MHz to 1170MHz).The volume of the planar antenna is only 18.6mm3(31×8×0.05mm),and the maximum gain reaches-24.2dB at 915MHz.In addition,wireless communication module with temperature sensor is used to test the link performance of the antenna,communication distance achieves 70m in a straight line,which meets the requirements of wireless capsule endoscope system.
