3-bit Polarization Insensitive Reflective Metasurface for RCS Reduction

  A 3-bit polarization insensitive reflective metasurface for radar cross section(RCS)reduction in ultra-wideband range is presented in this paper.A phase difference of 45°is realized between respective unit cells.The array is designed by a random combination of the unit cell for broadband RCS reduction.Simulation results indicate 10 dB RCS reduction for both TE and TM polarizations under normal incident for a wide band from 10 GHz to 30 GHz.Multi-bit coded metasurface have robust control of scattering of the electromagnetic waves and hence better RCS reduction is achieved.
