Comparison of ELF/VLF radiation excitation by different modes in EISCAT modulation heating experiment
By analyzing the experimental data of ionospheric modulation heating during EISCAT experiment,it is shown that the intensity of the ELF/VLF signal excited by AM mode is one order of magnitude higher than that of BW mode.However,compared with AM mode,the ELF/VLF excited by BW mode has no harmonic component,that is,the BW mode excitation ELF/VLF signal quality is better than the AM mode.
