Design of an S-Band Equilateral Triangular Patch Antenna(ETPA)on Mushroom Metamaterials in Compact Configuration
An equilateral triangular patch antenna(ETPA)in compact configuration is designed operating in the S-band.The compacting effect is realized by loading triangular mushroom metamaterial structures in a low index natural substrate.The ETPA is demonstrated in ANSYS HFSS.Simulated results show that the side length of the ETPA is 0.27λ0.The-10dB bandwidth is 1.5%.The gain performance is acceptably high that the simulated result is 6.4dBi.These results prove that the compact ETPA can be used for future wireless applications.
