DDS-PLL Phased Source for Ka-Band Beam Control Phased Array Receiver
A novel phase control circuit for Ka-band phased array receiver is introduced.This phase control circuit is based on DDS-PLL phased source and fourth subharmonic(SH)mixer.In the DDS-PLL source,a phased locked loop(PLL)is excited by the output signal of a direct digital synthesis(DDS),so that the phase of the PLL output signal is controlled by the tunable phase of the DDS output signal.The DDS-PLL phased source is used as local oscillator of the fourth SH mixer.So the phase shift of the millimeter-wave(MMW)signal received by the system can be altered by the DDS-PLL phased source.The experiment results verify good phase shift performance of this MMW phase control circuit.
