An Improved KPD Algorithm of Multipath Components Clustering for 5G Millimeter Wave Radio Channels

  Cluster is an important concept in channel model and simulations.In this paper,an adaptive kernel-powerdensity(KPD)based algorithm called adaptive-KPD(AKPD)is proposed.In KPD,the density of multipath components(MPCs)is calculated with the K nearest MPCs.However,by taking a fixed K,it cannot distinguish the cluster centroids when the number of MPCs is small inside a cluster.In this work,A distance-based algorithm is proposed to calculate an adaptive-K for each MPC,the accuracy of the proposed AKPD is validated using measured channel data at millimeter wave band.The results in paper is useful in MPCs clustering for 5G channel modeling and simulations.
