An Irregular Elliptical Monopole Antenna for Ultra-Wide-Band(UWB)Applications with Dual Notched Bands
An irregular elliptical monopole antenna is studied.The antenna operates from 2.85 to 17.43GHz fully covering the ultra-wide-band(UWB,3.1-10.6GHz).The total size of the UWB antenna is 28mm×40mm×1.6mm.To eliminate potential interferences in the bands of WLAN(5.15–5.85GHz),and X-band satellite communication(7.9–8.4GHz),diamondshaped slots are etched on the antenna,with parameters carefully optimized in full wave simulations.Dual notch bands are numerically demonstrated in 5.05-5.95GHz and 7.64– 8.78GHz which are successfully excluded from the original UWB spectrum.
