Investigation of Planar Parasitic Technique of the Printed Dipole
A novel printed dipole antenna with high gain and wide band is proposed where the planar parasitic technique is used. This antenna consists of a printed dipole and an asymmetrical rectangular frame on the same layer surrounding the dipole in order to get the maximal radiation in the vertical direction of the plane by coupling the energy from the dipole, and the corresponding substrate is WanglingsF4B.Consequently,the omnidirectional radiation character is changed into the bidirectional radiations similar to the slot antenna. The simulation results show that the resonance is affected few in the new design compared with the conventional printed dipole, but both the bandwidth and the gain are enhanced obviously. That is,the improved bandwidth is 20.3%compared with 13.5%of the conventional one,and the gain of the convectional dipole antenna is 2.05-2.13dB in the 10dB band 2.35-2.69GHz while it is 3.6-6.1dB in the band 2.30-2.82GHz of the proposed one.And as well the simulated and measured S11s are compared and analyzed in the end.
